🧠 How does the server rating system work?

To help you quickly assess server performance quality, I’ve implemented a visual rating system based on badges, ranging from 💎 to ⚠️.
This overall score is calculated from the FPS (frames per second) data collected during monitoring, taking into account the average, stability, and presence of drops.

Here is what the different badges mean and their score ranges:

• 💎 100/100: Perfect server with no significant FPS drops. Optimal performance for professional players and demanding users.
• 🚀 Between 95 and 99/100: Excellent performance, with very stable FPS and almost no noticeable drops.
• 🔥 Between 85 and 94/100: Good performance, with some minor fluctuations but no noticeable impact on gameplay.
• ⚡ Between 60 and 84/100: Average performance, moderate FPS drops that may affect more sensitive players.
• ⚠️ Below 60/100: Insufficient performance, frequent or severe FPS drops, not recommended for competitive matches.

This rating system allows you to quickly compare servers based on their actual performance, and easily identify those that guarantee a smooth and stable gaming experience.

🔐 Do you collect the RCON password of game servers?

To perform a performance test, we need your game server’s connection information:

• IP Address
• Connection Port
• Selected Game
• RCON Password

✅ The RCON password is never stored on our servers.
It is only used temporarily to run the necessary commands for the test.
We are committed to respecting the confidentiality of your data.

💡 If you have any concerns, you can change your RCON password after the test as a precaution.

🤯 How does FPSMeter detect the hosting provider without me specifying it?

This is one of FPSMeter’s strengths. From the information you provide (IP and port), we are able to identify the hosting provider of the tested server.
This detection is automatic, requires no action on your part, and does not rely on hoster declarations.
The method used is confidential to prevent copying or bypassing attempts.

💡 The goal is to ensure a reliable, independent, and tamper-proof comparison.

🔍 Score Reliability

🔄 Can I request a reset of my data?

The project is developed and maintained by a single person independently. All recognized hosting providers are manually added after verification, to ensure a clean and trustworthy database. If a GSP is not yet detected automatically, it can be integrated later.

⚠️ Unlike other review sites that rely solely on subjective feedback, FPSMeter is based only on concrete data from technical tests. Cheating is not possible.

🛡️ Security and Fraud Protection

Ensuring the reliability of the scores displayed on FPSMeter is a top priority. To make sure each benchmark reflects a real and honest situation, several security measures are in place:

• 🧠 Real-world analysis: tests are conducted by directly connecting to your server via RCON, which prevents manual tampering.
• 🚫 Reinforced anti-abuse: the system automatically detects spam or fraud attempts (such as launching multiple benchmarks in a row from the same IP, session, or browser).
• 🔐 No cheating possible: no hosting provider can modify their own score. Only FPSMeter analyzes and assigns ratings based on objective criteria measured in real time.
• 🔍 Manual detection of hosters: hosters are added manually by the project administrator to prevent any falsification.

💡 If you notice an anomaly or suspect abuse, feel free to contact me. I am the sole person responsible for the project and personally ensure the integrity of the collected data.

🔄 Can I request a reset of my data?

🧹 Exceptional Data Reset Request
Are you a hosting provider and wish to start fresh? It is possible to request a full reset of your data once every 6 months in case of major changes (e.g., hardware upgrade, full migration, infrastructure overhaul...).

⚠️ Warning: this action is irreversible. All your data will be permanently deleted: benchmarks, monthly scores, historical statistics.

📉 Visible consequences:
The monthly performance chart will show a gap or spike, making the overall performance history harder to interpret for visitors.

🛑 This request is strictly exceptional and subject to manual approval.
It must not be used to hide past poor performance, as this would harm FPSMeter’s transparency.

🌐 Can I write in French, English, or German on the forum?

Yes, our forum welcomes contributions in multiple languages, mainly French, English, and German. This allows our international community to freely share their experiences, questions, and advice.

🤖 Are forum posts translated automatically?

No, posts are not translated automatically. Each user is encouraged to post in the language they feel most comfortable with. To facilitate reading, we clearly indicate the language used on each topic or post.

❓ What should I do if I don’t understand a language?

You can use online translation tools to understand the content or ask your questions in your own language. The community is generally very welcoming and some members may respond in your language.

💬 Can I reply in a different language than the topic?

For better coherence and understanding, it is recommended to reply in the same language used in the topic. This facilitates communication and avoids confusion.
